I remember when I was in you always knew which boys were Scouts because they would wear their uniform to on the days of their meetings.  They all looked so cute and were so proud of that uniform, but times have changed and because of allegations of sexual abuse, homophobia and the exclusion of those who don’t believe in organized religion many schools are no longer sponsoring Scout troops.

President addresses our nation’s youth

President Obama addressed aged children across the country in his second Back-to-School address.

He told kids “to study hard, focus on your education, take responsibility for learning, and ask for help if you need it,“ according to http://www.c-span.org/.

The contents of the speech were released the night before the speech was given because last year there was controversy surrounding his address to .   Last year many parents around the country were concerned the President would use the speech as a way to push political agendas.  This year it seems that some schools chose to show the speech while others did not, but there was none of the controversy of last year.
